- Energy— capacity to do work; measured in Joules(J).
- Circuit elements - basic building block of a circuit.
- Electric circuit is interconnecting of the elements.
Types of elements:
- Active elements -> capable of generating energy
- Passive elements-> absorbs energy (resistors, capacitors)
- voltage and current are most important active elements.
Source divided into two:
- Independent Source-> doesn’t depend on the other elements to supply voltage and current
- Dependent Source -> reverse off independent source
